Velma Florence Rains, 86, died Sept 17, 1991, at Spearville Hospital, Spearville.
She was born May 30, 1905, at Great Bend, the daughter of Peter and Elizabeth Leek Deets. A life-time resident of Garfield, she was a clerk for several grocery stores.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church, the WSCS, and Over 50 Club, all of Garfield.
On Sept 29, 1926, she married Sherman Rains at Burton. He died July 27, 1968.
Survivors include: a sister, Inez R Darst, Dodge City.
Funeral service will be at 2 pm Thursday at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned, with the Rev John Goering presiding. Friends may call from 9 am to 9 pm today and until service time Thursday at the mortuary. Burial will be in the Garfield Cemetery, Garfield.
Memorials may be sent to the Garfield United Methodist Church, Garfield EMS, or the Over 50 Club, all of Garfield in care of the mortuary.
