Great Bend -- Hilda Annabelle Basgall, 87, died July 3, 1995, at IHS, formerly Great Bend Manor.

She was born Sept. 1, 1907, at Vincent, the daughter of George G. and Tracy Denning VonFeldt.

A Great Bend resident since 1987, moving from Hays, she was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Great Bend, Altar Society at various parishes, was a Senior Companion while employed at Rush County Hospital, LaCrosse, and she and her husband formed and managed the "Troubadours" Dance Band.

On Oct. 29, 1928, she married Joe G. Basgall at Loretta. He died April 14, 1972.

Survivors include: three sons, Eddie, Hays, Marvin, Great Bend, and Delbert, El Cajon, Calif.; two daughters, Vera Bellendir and Arbutus "Boots" Maltby, both of Great Bend; a sister, Georgina Urban, Westminster, Colo.; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.

Altar Society rosary will be at 3:30 p.m. today at Bryant-Christians Funeral Home, Great Bend. Vigil will be at 7:30 p.m. today followed by a parish rosary, both at the funeral home. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Great Bend, with Father Charles Mazouch presiding. Burial will be in the La Crosse Cemetery, LaCrosse.

Memorials may be sent to IHS or to the American Cancer Society, both in care of the funeral home.
