Marvin F. Basgall, 78, died Dec. 30 at Great Bend. He was born May 30, 1933, at Loretto, the son of Joe G. and Hilda (Von Feldt) Basgall. He married Wanita "Sandy" Basgall on Feb. 7, 1953, at Hays.

At age 14 he began playing with his family's dance band, The Troubadours, and then with the Eddie Basgall Orchestra. He owned and operated his body shop from 1969 to 1989, taking pride in the finished product. He then was an auto damage appraiser until retiring in 2001.
