passed away on August 1, 2012 doing what he loved, getting up and going to work.

He was born in Cardston, Alberta Canada on July 6th 1924 to Bertrand Richard and Rosezella Glenn Godfrey. He married the love of his life, Virginia Judith Black on her 18th birthday Feb. 3, 1942 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple.

Gordon proudly served in the US Navy during World War II. He was Chef at Hotel Temple Square for many years. He was a General Building Contractor and a licensed plumber. He retired from his position as Water Master at the University of Utah.

He is our beloved Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather. He had a quick wit and a solution for everything. His family referred to him as C.O.D. "Call On Dad." He gave freely and lovingly to family and friends.

Survived by: Gordon Lee (LaRita), Linda Duffin (Bob), Connie Mascherino (Mike), David (Stacey), Richard, Jim (Cherie), 20 grandchildren (one deceased), and 29 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Kathleen Watts. His loving wife Virginia preceded him in death May 15, 2011.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday Aug. 7th at the Mount Olympus 12th Ward chapel, 4176 Adonis Dr. (3950 East). Friends may call Monday from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary, 2350 East 1300 South and Tuesday one hour prior to services at the church. Interment, Holiday Memorial Park
