Charles Albert Stegall,62, died Friday, Aug.13,1993, in Encinitas, Calif. He was born in Smithville, MS. and reared in the New Salem community in Itawamba County, MS. He was a graduate of Itawamba Agricultural High School in Fulton, MS. He was an employee of Glenn Manufacturing in Amory and the Kroger Co. in Aberdeen, Ms. before moving to California in 1959. He was an Army veteran and a member of the Methodist Church.
Services were Aug.17 at the Church of Our Fathers in Cypress, Calif., with Pastor Glenn Kravig officiating. Burial was in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Cypress. Forest Lawn Mortuary of Cypress was in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Edith Plunkett Stegall of Anaheim, Calif.; two sons, Sam Stegall of Anaheim and Greg Stegall of Colorado; four daughters, Tammy Stegall of Arizona, and Sandy Cantrell, Cindy Stegall and Lindy McKay, all of Anaheim; three brothers, Edwin Stegall of Tavares, Fla., James Stegall of Bryson City, N.C., and Lionel Stegall of Smithville, Ms.; two sisters, Jean Knight of Chicago and Betty Morrow of Smithville, MS.; 10 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren.
