Stegall, Edwin "Ed" Hoyle, of Tavares passed away on Monday, May 31, 2010 at the age of 87. He was born on August 5, 1922 in Fulton, MS to Albert and Bernice Stegall and was the eldest of nine children. He moved his family to Lake in 1949. Ed served his country in the U.S. Army in WWII. Before retiring, Ed was a business man in Tavares for many years having owned Tavares Paint and Body, Ed's Auto Sales and Central Fuel Oil. He was a long time member of the First United Methodist Church in Tavares. Ed was a life long, avid fisherman. He is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years, Emogene Wheeler Stegall; daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Jim Stinson of Tavares; grandchildren, Tammie Vinson of Atlanta, Ga. and Scott and Jenny Stinson of Leesburg; great-grandchildren, Logan and Griffin Vinson and Cole, Brock and Ella Drew Stinson; brothers, James Stegall of Tavares and Lionel Stegall of Smithville, MS; sister, Jean Knight of Chicago, IL. A Memorial Service for Mr. Stegall will be on Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at 10 AM at the First United Methodist Church of Tavares.
