In 1862 Delilah had 4 young children and was pregnant with her 5th child when William left to fight in the Civil War. This child William Jr., was most likely 3 years old before his father returned home.
Around 1873 the family left Illinois and moved to Johnson County, near Cleburne, Texas.
Delilah died in 1874 at age of 36 for unknown reasons leaving William with 7 children ages 18 to 2 years. He quickly remarried to Martha Ann Post a widow raising 5 kids of her own.
She was the Mother of 8 children.
