At age 17 he move with his family to Johnson Co. Texas, where he worked on a Horse and Cow Ranch till his marriage. His mother died when he was 18 and his father remarried a widow who had 5 young adult children.
One of these children was Mary Jane Holsomback who was born 9-Nov-1855 in Georgia. She was also a widow with
three children of her own:
1. Franklin F. Brackville (1874-1875) 1y
2. Eugene B. Brackville (1877-1944)
3. Georgia Brackville (1878-1880) 2y
Simeon and Mary fell in love and were married
18-Feb-1881 at Cleburne, Johnson Co., Texas
They had one more child between them
4. Mary May Maxey (1883-1919)
(Note: Eugene changed his last name to Maxey in honor of his step-father)
Simeon then started Farming and in 1886 moved to Oklahoma Indian Territory and acquired a homestead in 1889. In 1907 he started a mercantile business with stores in Janks and Glenpool, He then worked as deputy registrar, and then He served as Justice of the Peace in Tulsa, OK for many years. He also served as County Commissioner. He and his wife were members of the Catholic Church and supporters of the Democratic Party. d: 25-Sep-1935 age 78, buried in Post, Tx.
When and Where Mary Jane Holsomback died is a unknown mystery.
