Mr. Billy Randall Dixon, 71, died Saturday evening (July 21, 2012) at Hospice House Satilla following a brief illness.

He was a native of Lowndes County but grew up in Ware County before moving to Kingsland most of his life. He was self employed as a carpenter and appliance/lawn mower repairman. He gained a lot of satisfaction from repairing broken machinery. He also served with the United States Army in Germany during the late 1950's and early 1960's.

He was a son to the late Shennie "Sam" Dixon and Jimmie Lee Ward Dixon. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Tammy Rene Dixon and four brothers, Lee L. Dixon, Ralph Dixon, Kenneth Dixon, and George Dixon.

The survivors include a sister, Evelyn D. Cornelius of Manor; two brothers, Thomas L. Dixon of Grovetown, GA and Jimmie Dixon (wife Kay) of Waycross; numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday (July 24, 2012) at New Prospect Cemetery in Manor.

Music Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
