Alvina B. Gilbert, 50, was pronounced dead on arrival at a Bedford, Pennsylvania hospital of injuries received in a car accident in Pennsylvania Sunday. She was a former resident of the Cherokee, Maryhill and Marcus communities, moving to Sioux City from Chrokee eight years ago.

Born on May 13, 1921 at Marcus to Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Kosse, she had been employed as a bookkeeper at the Mutual of New York Insurance Company in Sioux City.

Survivors are three sons, Thomas C. and Lawrence J. of Sioux Sioux City, and Gerald B. of Washington D.C.; two daughters, Linda and Mary Sue, both of Sioux City; two grandchildren; her mother, Mrs. Bernard Kosse of Marcus; two brothers, Alfred Kosse of Marcus and Peter Kosse of Cherokee; and three sisters, Mrs. Eleanor Thole of Ashton, Mrs. Angeline Treinen of Portland, Oregon, and Mrs. Mildred Schmidt of Saint Paul, Minnesota.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Church in Cherokee with Father Eugene Sitzmann celebrating the Requiem High Mass. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Cherokee. Greenwood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
