Verona Violet Dotson Walker, 100, of Memphis, MO, died January 12, 2007, in Scotland County Care Center in Memphis, MO.

Verona had loved the last nine years in Kahoka, MO, with her two daughters.

She had lived in New London, IA.

She was born in Newport, IA, on June 6, 1906, to Oscar "OB" and Edith Virginia Baxter Dotson. She was the third of nine children.

She was married to George Percy Walker on November 1, 1924 in Burlington, IA. He died June 24, 1985.
Verona was a homemaker and worked at Midwest Biscuit Co. In Mt. Pleasant, IA, for 10 years. She lived with her husband in New London, IA, most of her life. She was of the Methodist faith. She was a member of the Senior Citizens in New London, IA, and the Thursday afternoon pinochle club. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, mushrooming, gardening, flowers, and car rides to see the countryside. Her hobbies were crocheting, knitting, card playing, bingo and attending her Senior Citizens meetings. She loved being with her family and her friends.
She is survived by her daughters, Jean (Arnold) Brunk of Kahoka, MO, and Vera Virden of Kahoka, MO; grandchildren, Carol Williams, Mark Belles and his wife, Carolyn, Mitchell Belles, Steve Belles and his wife, Kirsten, all of Phoenix, AZ, Jeff Brunk and his wife, Reva of Revere, MO, Connie Gutting and her husband, Mike of Kahoka, MO, Shawn Brunk and his wife, Carey of St. Louis, MO, and Kathy Smith and her husband, Steve of Kahoka, MO; eight step-grandchildren; 14 step-great-grandchildren; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Geneva Gilmore of Cedar Rapids, IA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one daughter, Mazie Belles; one grandchild, Kyle Brur; seven brothers, Theodore, Cleo, Boyd, Homer, Mark, Bert, and Kenneth.
Services were held January 15, 2007, at Elliott Chapel, New London, IA, with Pastor Rod Cooper officiating. Interment was in the Elmwood Cemetery, Morning Sun, IA. Memorials may be made to New London Senior Citizens.
