A resident and native of Springfield, he died Monday, Aug. 9, 2004, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Hammond. He was 84.

Survived by his wife, Emily Bankston Wall of Springfield; two daughters, Elaine Wall Taylor of Springfield and Catherine Wall Hall of Kenyata, Ariz.; a brother, Ray Wall of Springfield; two grandchildren, Paul Chavers and Kendall Loper; and a great-granddaughter, Jessica Loper.

Preceded in death by two sons, Carlton and Richard Wall; a grandson, Michael Loper; a sister, Mary Alma Braden; and three brothers, Charles, Earl and Edward Wall.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, a member of American Legion Post 258, Springfield, a member of VFW Post 6505, Springfield, and a member of DVA Chapter 50.
