Funeral Services for James Sparks, age 73, will be held on Sunday, July 8, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Cookeville Funeral Home with interment in the Sand Springs Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, July 7, 2012, from 4:00 – 9:00 pm and on Sunday, July 8, 2012, from 11:00 am until time of the services.

Mr. Sparks went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 6, 2012.

He was born April 18, 1939, in Putnam County, TN to the late Alex and Gooley Mae McCloud Sparks.

Mr. Sparks was a member and a deacon of the Mill Creek Baptist Church. He was self-employed in the Upholstery business. He was well liked by all who knew him and he enjoyed going with his brother, Floyd, to garage sales, flea markets, and gospel singings.

He is survived by a son: Ronnie Sparks, a granddaughter: Michelle Sparks, a brother: Floyd Sparks, all of Cookeville, two sisters and brothers-in-law: Elise & Cordell Taylor of Cookeville, and Mary and Kenneth Geesling of Hilham, TN.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife: Delcie McCowan Sparks (who passed away February 2010), a daughter: Debbie Sparks Greenwood, and a sister-in-law: Geneva Sparks.

Pall Bearers will be family and friends.

Bro. Nolan Cantrell will officiate at the services.
