CLARENCE A. [BURGESS]– Died in Morton Hospital, May 1, 2009 following a month long illness. He was 90 years old. Born in Taunton son of the late Anthony and Roseanna (Braebent) Burgess. He was the husband of the late Catherine (Holmes) Burgess. He was a graduate of Msgr. Coyle High School in Taunton. For over 33 years he was a supervisor at the former New Jersey Rubber Company in Taunton and upon retirement from there he was employed in security/maintenance positions at K Mart in Raynham. He enjoyed carpentry and playing the harmonica. He was known by many for having his daily lunch at the Friendly's on Broadway in Taunton. He is survived by his daughters, Catherine Costa of Taunton, Ruthanne Burgess of ME and a son William Burgess of Middleboro. Clarence is the brother of Yvonne Lyons of Taunton and he is the grandfather of 11 and the great grandfather of 10. Visiting hours to which relatives and friends are invited to attend will be held in the Crapo-Hathaway Funeral Home, 350 Somerset Ave., (Route 138 South) Taunton on Tuesday evening from 4-8PM. A Graveside service will be held in St Francis Cemetery, Taunton on Wednesday at 11AM.
