Anthony Burgess, 84 of 44A Pine Street, Norton died Friday afternoon at Cardinal Cushing Hospital in Brockton following a long illness. He was the husband of the late Rosanna G. (Brabant) Burgess. He had worked as a packer for the New Jersey Rubber Company, Taunton until his retirement in 1961. Born and educated in Taunton, he was the son of the late John and Phoebe (Snow) Burgess. He attended St. Mary's Church, Barrowsville.
Survivors include five sons, Clarence A., Roland, both of Taunton, John of New York City, Arthur of Connecticut, Henry of North Carolina; three daughters, Mrs. Paul (Rose G.) Roberts of Lakeville, Mrs. Florence B. Brady of Norton, Mrs. Wilfred (Yvonne) LaFleur of Taunton; 32 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
