Mr. Eggeling died on Wednesday of last week at St. Catherine's hospital in McCook where he had been confined since suffering a stroke on November 25.
Two songs, "Be Still My Soul," and "There is an Hour of Peaceful Rest," were sung during the services by Mrs. J.W. Wagner and Ivan Groothuis. Miss Lynda Alberts served as organist.
Serving as pallbearers were Joe Miller, Max Miller, Arnold Gohl, Arnold Cappel, Werner Morthole, and William Wittwer. Burial was made in the Culbertson Cemetery under the direction of the Herrmann Funeral Home.

Alvin John Eggeling was born at Jensen, Nebraska on March 28, 1886 and died at St. Catherine's Hospital in McCook, Nebraska on December 12, 1962 at the age of 76.
He was a life-long member of the Lutheran church and grew to manhood on a homestead 12 miles northwest of Culbertson.
On June 15, 1913 he was married to Miss Emma Wittwer. They were the parents of two children.
Mr. Eggeling farmed in this community from 1913 to 1943. Following his retirement from farming, he and his wife moved to Culbertson. He then worked for the Burlington railroad until failing health forced him to give up that employment.
Survivors include his wife, Emma, of Culbertson; one daughter, Mrs. Roy (Clara) Waterman of Trenton; one son, SM/Sgt. Alvin C. Eggeling, presently stationed with the U.S. armed forces in Seville, Spain; four sisters, Mrs. Anna Cook and Mrs. Louis Morthole of McCook; Mrs. Dora June of Hastings; and Miss Minnie Eggeling of Culbertson; and two brothers, Fred of San Diego, California, and William of Denver. Mr. Eggeling is also survived by 11 grandchildren.
