BUCKLAND - Luther J. Boyd, 79, of Buckland died Sunday in Mary Lane Hospital, Ware. He was born in Readsboro, Vt., Jan [June?] 4, 1894, the son of Winfield and Flora (Bailey) Boyd. His first wife Ada C Boyd died in 1938.
He leaves his second wife, Lillian (Taylor) Boyd; four daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Hines of Claremont, N.H., Mrs. Sue Brown of North Brookfield, Mrs. Mabel Eastman of Buckland and Mrs. Irene Eastman of Brookfield; a sister, Mrs. Cora Aldrich of Wilmington, Vt., 17 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 2 at Johnson funeral home in Shelburne Falls with Rev. Eric Bascomb of Mary Lyon Church in Buckland officiating. Burial will be in the Center Cemetery in Buckland. There are no visiting hours.
