David B. Whitener is the son of Benjamin Whitener and Mary Magdalena Whisenhunt Whitener. He was born in Lincoln Co.(now Catawba Co. since 1842), and died in Catawba Co. He married Catherine Hahn April 11, 1822 in Lincoln Co. The marriage is recorded in "Marriages of Tryon and Lincoln Counties". Benjamin had 15 children and he mentioned all of them by name in his will.
