WORCESTER - Palmina M. (Cancelmo) Giannetta, 99, of Worcester passed away Thursday, June 14th 2012 with family by her side.
Palmina's husband of 36 years Ralph Giannetta, Sr. passed away in 1968. She is survived by two daughters and three sons, 16 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren and a great great great grandchild; many nieces and nephews. Three sons, Richard "Chooch", Frank and Robert "Baccala" Giannetta; a brother, Joseph Cancelmo and four sisters, Mary DeStraitis, Lucy Budano, Rose Prosser and Angelina Cancelmo all predeceased her. She was born in Worcester, her parents were the late Bonafacio and Bernadina (Committo) Cancelmo and has lived here all her life.
Palmina worked at onetime as a Home Health Aide for Kelly Healthcare. She was a member of Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church.
Palmina's funeral will be held Monday, June 18th from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St with a Mass at 12:30 p.m in Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church, 24 Mulberry St. Burial will follow in St John Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 3 p.m to 6 p.m Sunday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the VNA Care Hospice, 120 Thomas St., Worcester 01608.
