Mrs. Stella Johnson, 91, lifetime
resident of Davis county,
passed away at her home near
Monterey, Saturday night. Although
quite advanced in years
her death was unexpected.
She was the daughter of Aaron
and Melinda Daniels Evans
and was born in Davis county.
March 12, 1878, and was married
to Samuel M. Johnson in Bloom-
field, Dec. 28, 1898. Surviving
are her husband; a daughter,
Mrs. Thelma Starr of Bloomfield;
a grandchild, Mrs. Wilma
Mitchell; three great grandchild-
ren; and six great, great grand
children.
Funeral services were held on
Monday in Bloomfield with the
Rev. Quentin Johnson the offic-
iating minister. Interment was
in Johnson cemetery near Monterey.

Johnson, daughter of Aaron and
Malinda Daniel Evans, was born
March 12, 1878 near Monterey.
Ia. She passed away March 15,
1969 at her home after a short
illness, at the age of 91 years
and 3 days.
Mrs. Johnson was a lifelong
resident of Davis county and
educated in its public schools.
She was a member of the Monterey
Christian Church. On Dec.
28, 1898, she was married to
Samuel Johnson in Bloomfield,
la., by Rev. Mose Downing. To
this union one daughter was
born, Mrs. Thelma Starr of
Bloomfield.
Mrs. Johnson was preceded in
death by both parents, Mr. and
Mrs. A. A. Evans; two brothers.
W. L. and Chas. Evans; three
sisters, Viola and Vietta Evans,
and Mrs. W. F. Horn.
She leaves to revere her mem

ory, her husband; the daughter
and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs.
W. T. Starr; one granddaughter,
Wilma and her husband,' Ralph
Mitchell; three great grandchildren,
Mrs. Nadine Sleetih, Gerald
Mitchell and his wife, Fern.
Jimmie Mitchell and his wife,
Jean; six great great grandchildren,
Renee, Denee and Joel
Sleeth, Danny, Sammy and Teresa
Mitchell, all of Bloomfield.
Also many nieces, nephews and
other relatives and friends.

Through the years. Mrs. Johnson
made many friends through
her., virtuous concern, kindly
deeds and sharing'in time of
need. Pleasant memories'of her
life shall remain to comfort.
Funeral services were held at
the Wagler Funeral Home Monday
afternoon at 2:00 p.m.. Mar.
17, conducted by Rev. Quentin
E. Johnson. Interment was made
in Johnson cemetery, south of
