Funeral Services for Addie Mae King, 92 of Wharton, were held Friday from Iago Federated Chruch with Rev. Wade Johnson and Rev. Mike Rod officiating. Interment followed in Wharton City Cemetery.

Mrs. King died December 22, 1993 at Gulf Coast Medical Center after an extended illness. She was born Feb 10, 1901 in Percilla to Felix and Lethia A Pipkin Ray.

She married Monroe King, Jr. and he preceded her in death on Dec 28, 1962. Mrs. King had been a resident of Wharton County since 1918 and was a member of Iago Federated Church in Iago. She worked as a seamstress for Sol's for 18 years until her retirement in 1979. Mrs. King was a former Sunday School teacher and church board member at Iago Federated Church.

Survivors include daughters, Lena Bell Ploss of Houston and Hallie Ann Smith of Wharton; sister, Ann L Smith of Wharton and Bobbie L Peace of Dallas; brother, Walter N Beene of Lancaster and one grandson. She was preceded in death by two brothers.

Pallbearers were Ellwood Spell, Raymond Spell, David Smith, Ben Boyd, Dwight King and Bill Edwards.

Honorary pallbearers were Calvert McDaniel, Argus Looper, Henry Wiek, Bill Morrison, Mike Patterson, Charles Smith and Leroy Grimes.

In lieu of usual remembrances the family requests memorials to the Iago Federated Church, Bolling, Texas 77420
