Lena Belle King Ploss, age 78 of Wharton died Thursday, April 21, 2005 in Wharton. She was born in Iago on June 19, 1926, the daughter of Monroe Henderson King and Addie Mae Ray King.
Mrs. Ploss was a 40-year resident of Houston before moving to Wharton in 1999. She married Moritz Ploss, Sr on Nov 21, 1959 in Iago. He preceded her in death June 1993. Mrs. Ploss was a homemaker. She was a member of Iago Federated Church and former member of Grace Lutheran Church of Houston.
Funeral services were held at 10am Monday, April 25, 2005 at Iago Federated Church with Mickey Reynolds officiating. Interment will follow in Earthman Resthaven Cemetery in Houston.
Survivors include her sister Hallie Ann Smith of Wharton, step children, Moritz Ploss, Jr and Lynn Shiflet both of Houston; nephew James Smith and wife Sheryl of Beasley; great-niece, great nephew and numerous step-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Rick Ploss, John Ploss, Sid Pomonis, Tom King II, Travis King and Troy King.
