Former Fort man dies
Herbert J. Boyer, 76, of North Haven, and formerly of Fort Covington, died Wednesday, April 14, in Southampton Hospital, Long Island, following a lengthy illness.
A prayer service was held at the Yardley Funeral Home, Sag Harbor, on Friday night. The body was then flown to the Anderson Funeral Home, North Lawrence, and interment took place on Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Notre Dame Cemetery in Malone.
Born in Malone, Aug. 19, 1899, he was a son of Oliver and Florence St. Amer Boyer. For many years, he was employed at Alcoa in Massena, retiring 12 years ago.
On August 5, 1921, in Constable, he was married to the former Clara Langlois. She survives.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Robert of Massena and Ray of Norfolk, Va., a daughter, Mrs. Rita Simms of Sag Harbor and five grandchildren.
