Funeral services for Joe Green Knifley, 81, were held last Friday, March 12, at 2 p.m. at the Tabernacle Christian Church in Adair County. Burial was in the church cemetery. Rev. Luther Young of Russell Springs was in charge of the services. Stricken with a heart attack while feeding stock at his barn, Knifley died at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 10. He had been in ill health for sometime. Born November 26, 1872, in Adair County, between Roley and Knifley, the deceased was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Philip Knifley. His mother was the former Miss Charlotte Chelf. A member of the Tabernacle Christian Church, he was married to Miss Cora Lee Campbell on December 24, 1886. She survives. He lived in the same community where he died for 47 years. Besides his wife, he is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Bessie (Roland) White, Knifley; Mrs. Irene (Gordon) Cabbell, Dayton, Ohio; Mrs. Audrey (Fred) Hareman, Buechol, Ky.; Mrs. Ina (Bob) Cave of Campbellsville; three sons, Charlie Knifley and Dallas Knifley, of Route 1, Knifley, and Willard Knifley, of Lexington, Kentucky. Also two brothers, W. R. Knifley, of Campbellsville, and Tom Knifley of Kansas. Pallbearers were: Billy Joe Knifley, Gordon Cabbell, Roland White, James Knifley, Bob Cave and Ronald Spires.
