She was the last surviving Daughter of Thomas and Eliza (Etter) Hosterman when she died. She never married.

Obit from the Acadian Recorder, Monday Evening, March 21, 1904: HOSTERMAN-At 12 South Street, March 20, after a short but severe illness, borne with Christian resignation to the Divine will, Mary E., daughter of the late Thomas Hosterman of this city. Funeral from her nephew's residence, 258 Gottingen Street, on Tuesday, at 3 o'clock.
