Roland "Red" Gilliam, 82, of Oelwein, died Tuesday morning, Nov. 11, 2008, at University Hospitals, Iowa City, after a long illness. Funeral services: 1:30 p.m. Friday, First Baptist Church, with military services at 7:30 p.m. The Rev. Tim Schoepf will officiate. Burial: Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation: 3 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Oelwein and one hour before services Friday at the church.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley; a daughter, Nancy DeLong of Minburn, Iowa; a son, Bob of Aurora; and two brothers, Gene of Pilot Mound and Dick of Conway, S.C.
