Charles Wesley Jones is half brother to Amelia White Parks. Amelia died April 9 1864 in Chariton County, MO and Charles died 10 days later. Where? I probably will never be able to find out. He was 19, old enough to be a Soldier. Confederate? Maybe. Not a Confederate marker, but then Union had already threaten the area, about Southern Sympathy.
Coincidence, fate, or did something happen on that farm and area. No papers published between Oct 1863 and May of 1864 in Chariton County. William Lay's Civil War in Howard County Part 1 from June 17 1861-Oct 11 1863. Part II picks back up May 20 1864 to Dec 8 1864. I need Nov 1863-April 1864. Go figure the umpteenth time I hit a brick wall.
William Lay's in Part II states that Quantrill returned to Missouri in March 1864. Followed by Todd and Anderson. I spoke with the president of the Forest Green Mercantile Bank in Salisbury, MO August 14, 2007. "It was some bloody times in this area at that time. They didn't name that area Rascal flats for nothing."
I am sorry young man, this is the best I can do with your dash.
