Jeane Eleanor Fitzpatrick, 90, Shawnee, Ks., formerly of Mission Hills, Ks. and Siesta Key, Fl., passed away May 28, 2012. Jeane was born in Sioux City, Iowa to Joseph C. Malloy and Elsie Montgomery. She attended Mason City High School in Mason City, Iowa and the University of Oklahoma, where she was a member of Gamma Phi Beta sorority. Jeane married her high school sweetheart, Matthew Robert Fitzpatrick, in 1943. They settled in Kansas City, Ks., where Bob practiced medicine for 40 years. They were members of the Terrace Club, Milburn Country Club and Jeane was a member of the Junior League of Kansas City, Kansas. In 1989, they moved to their long-time vacation spot, Siesta Key, Florida, returning to the Kansas City area in 2004.
Jeane was preceded in death by her husband and sisters, Joan Malloy Butler and Marianne M. Land Hites. She is survived by her children, Matt Fitzpatrick (Mary); Martha Phillips (John), Bridget Brill (Tom), both Kansas City and seven grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff at The Sweet Life at Rosehill, especially Kelley, who went the "extra mile" to care for Jeane, and the staff of Odyssey Hospice. A special thanks goes to June Harlow, a dear friend.
Funeral and burial services will be private. "Je t'aime."
