Elton John Schwindt, 66, died April 11, 1989, at Rush County Memorial Hospital in LaCrosse. Born Sept. 18, 1922, in LaCrosse, he was a lifetime area resident. He married Mildred Schlegel May 30, 1958. She died Dec. 21, 1959.
Schwindt was a member of Veteran of Foreign Wars in LaCrosse and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include two brothers, Edward of LaCrosse and Arthur of Rapid City, S.D.; and one sister Viola Horyna of Timken.
Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at LaCrosse Cemetery with the Rev. Jim Bush officiating. Janousek Funeral Home in LaCrosse is in charge of arrangements.
