The funeral services were conducted at the home of Mrs. Uzzell yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock, Rev. George W. Springfield of the First Baptist Church in charge, and the remains were taken to Lapara for inter¬ment in the Baptist cemetery.
Deceased was born in Louisiana Sept. 17, 1832. Her maiden name was Cole. She came to Texas when three years old, the family locating in Washington County. Following her marriage to Mr. David they came to Bee County and her husband built the third house erected in Beeville. It was used as soon as completed to hold the first term of District Court in, judge and lawyers assisting with the carpenter work to hurry up its completion. Mr. and Mrs. David were presented with two Beeville lots as payment for the use of the house as a court room that term.
Fourteen children were born to Mr. and Mrs. David, ten of whom survive their mother as follows: John G., Walter M., and Robert B. David, Robstown; William, Sandia; Dudley, Hebbronville; Mrs. Amelia Little, Junction; Loodina Shipp, Seadrift; Mrs. Cora Uzzell, Beeville; Mrs. Nora Gray, Robstown, and Mrs. Tennie Uzzell, Agua Dulce. Preceeding her death were Flora, infant daughter; Mrs. Ellen Huffman, Mrs. Annie Malone and James David. Mrs. David is survived by many grand¬children and great grandchildren.
Mrs. David was a devout Christian and had long held membership in the Baptist Church.
