Oakville. A remarkable case of long life is that of Mrs. Sara Cole, who died here on the 27th of Nov. ultimo. In commenting on her death the Leader says "She has lived under the administration of every president the United States has ever had; she was 6 years old when George Washington retired to private life, she was 21 when the last war between the United States and Great Britain was declared, was 23 when the city of Washington, D. C. was burned by the British, was in the prime of robust womanhood when Napoleon was in the zenith of his glory, was 50 when Queen Victoria ascended the English throne, was 55 when the war broke out between the United States and Mexico and over 70 years old when the war between the states commenced." At her death she was one hundred and one years, one month and 18 days old.
