Genoa – Mrs. Frank (Nellie) King, 82, died early Sunday morning, June 15, 1958 at the Sycamore Municipal Hospital where she had been a patient for the past three weeks.
Nellie Leona Gross was born April 7, 1876 in Mayfield Township, the daughter of Joseph and Jennie Dimond Gross. She attended the Kingston schools and was a Kingston High School graduate.
Before her marriage to Frank King on June 26, 1895 she taught school for two years. They farmed in Mayfield until 1938 and then moved to Waterman where they remained until 1946 when their retired life began in Genoa. She was a very devoted and active member of the Methodist Church of Genoa and of the Lois Circle. She also taught Sunday school for many years.
Surviving are her husband, three daughters Mrs. Edith Bacon of Kingston, Mrs. Pearl Matteson of Leesburg, Fla., and Mrs. Robert (Jennie) Hoffman of Genoa; 15 grandchildren and 44 great grandchildren.
Two sons, a brother and a sister preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at the Methodist Church with the Rev. Charles F. Carlson officiating with burial to be in the Mayfield cemetery. Friends may call at the Cooper Funeral Home after noon Tuesday and until noon Wednesday.
