Found in The State 23 November 1928: Mrs. Emily Heyward Clarkson, widow of A. G. Clarkson of Richland county, died at a local hospital last night after an illness which had extended over many months. She was 73 years of age. Mrs. Clarkson was born in Beaufort and was the daughter of Mr. and rs. Nathaniel Heyward. She spent the greater part of her life at her home in Eastover where she was held in warm esteem and affection for her many good deeds and sturdy character. Surviving are the following sons and daughters: Mrs. James H. Fowles and N. H. Clarkson and W. A. Clarkson, all of Columbia; J. S. H. Clarkson and R. B. Clarkson of Lugoff; A. G. Clarkson of Boykin and Mrs. A. K. Ball of Eastover; and Mrs. R. E. Babcock of Washington, D. C. Funeral services will be held at the residence of Mrs. James H. Fowles, 813 Henderson street at 11 o'clock Saturday morning and will be conducted by the Rev. L. N. Taylor, rector of Zion Episcopal church of Eastover, of which Mrs. Clarkson was a member, assisted by the Rev. Henry D. Philllips, rector of Trinity Episcopal church in Columbia. Interment will be in Trinity churchyard.
