Erwin M. Propson, age 85, of W4693 Highway F. Chilton, died on Thursday, Dec. 13, 2001 at Calumet Medical Center in Chilton following a traffic accident.
He was born April 15, 1916 in Kloten, son of the late John and Rose (Wettstein) Propson.
Erwin married Elnora Schumacher on July 13, 1938 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Hilbert. He farmed in the town of Stockbridge for 51 years and also worked for Hugo Diedrich Welding Repair for many years. Erwin was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Kloten and Quinney Fishing Club.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Elnora; 7 children, Alvin (Eveline) Propson of Chilton, LaVerne (George) Buechel of Malone, Lorraine (Daniel) Kurtz of Spring Grove, Ill., Melvin (Carol) Propson of Charlesburg, Marvin (Liz) Propson of Jericho, Arleen (Terry) Fluhr of Chilton and Rita (Roger ) Stahmann of Van Dyne; 21 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; four sister, Rosemary Karls of Stockbridge, Dolores (Harold) Sell of Bellevue, Alice (Tony) Sabel of Kiel, Dorothy (Robert) Gerner of Oshkosh; four brothers, John (Lydia) Propson of West Bend, Arthur (Doris) Propson of Chilton, Joseph (Bernice) Propson of Kiel, Andrew (Ginny) Propson of Chilton; a brother-in-law, Leo Miller of Chilton; and a sister-in-law, Viola Propson of Hilbert.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Isabelle Miller; three brothers, Leander, Gregor and Theodore; two sisters-in-law, Viola Propson and Rose Propson; and a brother-in-law, Cyril Karls.
Funeral services will be at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Kloten with the Rev. Gary New S.D.S. officiating.
