Gregory A. Propson, 85, of 721 Vogt Lane, Chilton, died on Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2000 at the Calumet Medical Center in Chilton.
He was born on Dec. 14, 1914 in Kloten, son of the late John and Rose (Wettstein) Propson. He married Rose J. Pethan on May 7, 1941 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Chilton. She preceded him in death on Nov. 23, 1991.
He served in the U.S. Army during WWII, owned a trucking and livestock hauling business in the Chilton area for many years and did custom butchering. He was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church in Charlesburg, VFW Post 3153, American Legion Post 124 New Holstein and the Chilton Eagles 1288.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Lee Farmer of California and Carol Propson of Chilton; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; five brothers, Ervin (Eleanore) Propson of Chilton, John (Lydia) Propson of West Bend, Joe (Bernice) Propson of Kiel, Art (Doris) Propson of Chilton, Andrew (Virginia) Propson of Chilton; four sisters, Rosemary Karls of Chilton, Delores (Harold) Sell of Green Bay, Alice (Tony) Sabel of Kiel and Dorothy (Robert) Gerner of Oshkosh, many : nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Leander and Ted Propson and one sister, Isabella Miller.
Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 18, 2000 at St. Charles Catholic Church in Charlesburg with the Rev. Gary New S.D.S. officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery, with flag presentation by VFW Post 3153 and American Legion Post 124 of New Holstein. Friends may call at the CHURCH, in Charlesburg, on Friday from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Wieting Funeral Home of Chilton is assisting the family.
