Died 10:20 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, 1991, at Caldwell Memorial Hospital. He was 82, a native of Caldwell Parish and resident of Columbia. He was a photographer.

Religious services were held at Riser and Son Funeral Home, Columbia, 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, 1991, conducted by the Rev. John Vining and the Rev. Ramon Warren. Burial was in Welcome Home Cemetery, Grayson.

Survived by wife, Edna Irene Owens Thompson, Columbia; a daughter, Beverly Ann Thompson Jones, Raleigh, N.C.; two sons, James H. Thompson Jr., Baton Rouge, and Jerry O. Thompson, Lake Charles; three sisters, Katy T. Dishman, Cleveland, Texas, Helen T. Sellars, Arlington, Texas, and Pauline T. Halbert, Baton Rouge; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Honorary pallbearers were Peter Adams, Steve May, Mac Spiller, Bob McIlwain, Gerry McIlwain and Philip Wilkins.
