Funeral services were held Monday, Sept 9, 1963 for Mrs. J. B. Thompson, 83, of Columbia, sister of Cicero Meyers of Sicily Island. Mrs. Thompson died Saturday after a long illness. She was a member of the Columbia Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. Funeral services were at Columbia Methodist Church, with the Revs. M. S. Robertson, J. P. McKeithen and Troy Garrett officiating. Burial was in Welcome Home Cemetery under direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home. Survivors include a son, J. H. Thompson of Lake Charles; four daughters, Mrs. W. A. Coates and Mrs. W. W. Halbert, both of West Monroe; Mrs. B. F. Sellars of Dallas, Texas; Mrs Walter Dishman of Lovelady, Texas; a brother, Cicero Meyers of Sicily Island; 12 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren.
