Hannah Louella Dye, known as Ella, was the daughter of William Dye, b. OH, and Mary Heywood Kay, b. NY. The Dye Family came west by train from Iowa seeking farmland. They settled near Stokes Mtn. southeast of Orosi in Tulare Co., CA. A neighbor, Herman Beinhorn, b. GER, and William Dye began farming wheat together. Herman first married Harriet Lorilla (Lily) Dye in Jan. 1878, Ella's older sister. This couple had three children: William M., Frank James, and Alice. Sadly, wife Lily died in May 1885, leaving three young children. Herman then married younger sister Ella in March 1888. They also had three children: Spurgeon Charles, Dale Hervey and Pearl. Herman gifted Ella with five acres of subdivision land which became downtown Orosi. There is an Ella Street and a Beinhorn Road today in Orosi, CA. Herman died in 1929 and is buried in the Visalia Cemetery next to Lily. No marker was placed on his grave. Ella's parents are buried in the next plot. Ella continued living in Orosi for a time and last moved to nearby Dinuba, CA. She passed away 11 Nov 1944. She is buried in the Visalia Cemetery. Also buried in the same plot are Mary Elizabeth (Beth) (Marko) Beinhorn, wife of son Dale H. Beinhorn and son Spurgeon C. Beinhorn, who died at age 31 years.
