Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at St. Mary's Help of Christians Catholic Church in St. Augusta for Ruth Laverne Boeckmann. Ruth died Saturday, May 5 at Country Manor, Sartell. Rev. Robert Rolfes will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Ruth was born in International Falls to Roy and Mary Ann (Pauls) Botz. She attended Teachers College at the St. Cloud State University and taught in a one room school house. On June 18, 1946 she married Wendelin Boeckmann at Holy Angels Catholic Church. Ruth was a member of St. Mary's Help of Christians Catholic Church, St. Augusta, where she taught religion for many years, and a member of the Christian Women. She was very involved in the Boy Scout and Girl Scout organizations as her children were growing up. Ruth enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles, Wheel of Fortune, sewing, playing the piano, and oil painting. She was an easygoing, patient, and helpful person who loved her family dearly.
Ruth is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Wendelin of St. Augusta; children, Robert of St. Augusta, Karen (Larry) Kedrowski of St. Augusta, Susan Zenzen of St. Cloud, Linda (Jim) Blaisdell of Pierz, Jeanie (Don) Pederson of Pine River, Kathy Boeckmann of St. Cloud, Gary (Theresa) of Pequot Lakes, Nancy Boeckmann of Foley; two sisters, Eleanora and Florence; 29 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Mildred.
