Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, January 19, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sauk Rapids for Mildred M. Weeres, age 85 of Sauk Rapids who passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2009 at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Sauk Rapids. Reverend Ronald Weyrens will officiate. Entombment will be in the Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum, St. Cloud.
Family and friends may call after 9:30 a.m. on Monday at the church in Sauk Rapids. Arrangements were by the Daniel Funeral Home, St. Cloud.
Mildred was born on February 8, 1923 in St. Cloud, Minnesota to Roy and Mary (Pauls) Botz. She graduated from St. Cloud Teacher's College. Mildred married Arnold Weeres on May 8, 1947 in St. Cloud. They raised four children on the family farm east of St. Nicholas. Mildred taught in one-room schoolhouses in the Grove City, Richmond, St. Nicholas and Rockville areas and the Catholic school in Watkins. She also taught religious education at St. Nicholas parish. She was a member of Sacred Heart parish and R.S.V.P.
She is survived by her children, Patricia (Christopher) Froelich of Sauk Rapids, Christopher (Pirkko) of Lake Forest, California, James of St. Nicholas and David (Karen) of Clearwater; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; sisters, Ruth Boeckman of St. Augusta, Eleanor Staab of Monroe, Wisconsin and Florence Rahn of St. Paul.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Arnold.
