A sophomore student at Valparaiso High School, David was born Aug. 22, 1954 at Blue Island, Ill., the son of Edward and Mildred (Purnell) Leib.
A resident of Valparaiso most of his lifetime, David was a member of St. Paul's Catholic church. He was on the football team at Benjamin Franklin Junior High School when he attended there and was a member of the choir.
Surviving are his father, Edward, of Valparaiso; his mother, Mrs. Richard A. Johnsen, Valparaiso; and his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Purnell, Harvey, Ill.
Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Roger (Judith Ann) Steel and Mrs. George (Mary) Bergstrom, both of Valparaiso; two brothers, Spc. 4 Edward Leib, Jr., stationed in Vietnam, and James E. Leib, Valparaiso; and two stepbrothers, Michael R. and Paul A. Johnsen, Valparaiso.
Arrangements are pending at Wetmore Funeral Home pending word from the brother in Vietnam.

DAVID LEIB'S RITES
Services for David Allen Leib, 15, 1511 Valparaiso street, who was found dead Saturday, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Wetmore Funeral Home.
The Rev. Joseph Reed, St. Paul's Catholic Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home until time of services.
Among survivors are his stepfather, Richard A. Johnsen, and his maternal step-grandmother, Mrs. A. B. Johnsen, both of Valparaiso.
