In Feb 1955, in Pawling, he married Julie M Coiteux, who survives, as do a son, Howard, Pawling; daughter Kathleen M Masterson, White Plains; brothers Edward, Pawling; Allen, Council Bluffs, IA; Fred, Nashua, NH: sisters Patricia Spinner, Pawling; Bernice Morris, Hedgesville, WV; Viola Childers, Council Bluffs, IA; Sarah Lewis, Nashua, NH; Petra derBoghissian, Wingdale; five grandchildren.
