Genevieve H. Johnson, 83, of Virginia, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 1997. She died at St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth.

She was born April 18, 1914, to Ferdinand and Stella (Chahowski) Wrobleski in Virginia. She grew up and attended school in Virginia, graduating from Roosevelt High School. On May 12, 1934, she married Arthur I. Johnson in Eveleth. They co-owned and operated Johnson Brothers Milk Co. of Virginia.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Pratt-Volden Post 239 and the Holy Spirit Catholic Church of Virginia.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur in 1971; two brothers; a sister; and her parents.

Survivors include four daughters: Margaret (Robert) Roskoski, Sharon (James) Buria, Janice (Robert) Maki and Arlette (Joseph) Roskoski; two sons: Philip (Jean) Johnson and Arthur Johnson; nine grandchildren and two great-grandsons; two brothers, Walter Wrobel and Lee Wrobleski; two sisters, Lucille Vertachnik and Bernice Jarvinen; numerous nieces and nephews.

Burial in Greenwood Cemetery, Virginia.
