He was born on Sept. 2, 1937, to Arthur and Genevieve (Wrobleski) Johnson in Virginia. After graduating from Roosevelt High School in Virginia, he entered into the United States Navy in July 1955 and was honorably discharged in 1958. Arthur attended Virginia Junior college for two years after the Navy receiving an AA degree. He was united in marriage to Clorinda Giombetti after college and then their daughter, Mary Irene, was born in 1965, which is the only child born to Arthur.
Arthur was self-employed for 20 years as a dairy distributor for Land O’ Lakes. He then became an independent owner/operator over the road truck driver for 20 years working mainly with Landstar out of Texas. Arthur received recognition from Landstar for driving over 6 million miles without an accident or a ticket as a truck driver.
He enjoyed weight lifting, dog training and had a wanderlust which brought him to travel the world. Arthur enjoyed spending time with his daughter and was a proud and loving father.
Arthur is survived by his daughter, Mary Irene Johnson (William R.) Claviter; sisters, Margaret (Bob) Roskoski, Sharon (Bob) Buria, Janice (Robert) Maki and Arlette (Joe) Roskoski; brother, Philip (Jean) Johnson and close and caring friend, Linda Gish, as well as many relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
