Chambersburg Hospital. She had been in failing health for two years, and was last admitted to the hospital on Friday after suffering a heart attack.
She was born at Pond Bank, Nov 24, 1914, daughter of the late Charles and Martha Wagaman Bumbaugh. All of her life was lived in the Pond Bank area. For several years Mrs. Stoops had been employed at the
Letterkenny Depot, and prior to her retirement due to ill health, she worked as a nurse's aide at the Samuel Dixon Hospital for 10 years. She was a member of the Greenwood Gospel Tabernacle, Chambersburg R D 1.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by these children; Eugene L Bumbaugh, Mont Alto, Mrs. Janet
Hardsock and Mrs Isabelle Brown, both of Chambersburg R D 1, Mrs Faye Stockslager, Duncansville R D 2, Mrs.
Connie Craig, Waynesboro R D 3, Miss Vivian Stoops, Glenn Stoops and Marlin Stoops, all at home. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren and these brothers and sisters, Harry Bumbaugh, Mrs. Beulah Shaffer, Ralph Bumbaugh, Charles Bumbaugh and Donald Bumbaugh, all of Chambersburg R D. 1, and a stepsister, Mrs. Ruth Short, Laurel.
The funeral will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m in the Fayetteville Church of God, in charge of the Rev. George
Mouer, and the Rev. Theodore Gaylor. Burial will be made in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
