She immigrated to the US about 1840 and stayed with her brother David Little in Preemption, Ill. Little else is known until her wedding to James Strahan in Rock Island, Ill on March 11, 1846
She and James raised their children and farmed in the Camanche, IA area.
*Note her sister Ann Little (Find A Grave Memorial # 59090984) is buried in the Strahan family plot and her information is listed on the reverse side of Mary Janes monument - in some sources she is listed as a Strahan - she was not, she was a visiting sister who died
