"Jackie" was a 1950 graduate of Howland High School and lived the majority of her life in Patten with her husband of 60 years, Carroll V. Palmer. Jackie was an Avon representative in the Patten and Sherman area for more than 20 years and enjoyed visiting with her many Avon customers and friends. She was a past matron of Pleadis Chapter of Order of the Eastern Star; a community activist with People Helping People, a support group in Patten; and attended Island Falls Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Carroll Palmer of Patten; her children, Steven and wife, Kim, of Bucksport, Jessica of Sacramento, Calif., Jolene of Westbrook and David and wife, Tammy, of Old Town. In addition, Jackie is survived by eight grandchildren, Stephanie, Jennifer, Rachael, Trishia, Megan, Tyler, Nicole and Britney; and six great-grandchildren, Alex, Megan, Laura, Gracie Jacquelyn, Gillian and Christian Palmer. She also leaves her lifelong friend, Joyce Harvey; sisters, Azuba Palmer of Connecticut, Faye Wakefield of Enfield and Barbara Porter of Patten; many loved nieces and nephews; and Tiffany Free of Bangor. Jackie was predeceased by two brothers, Oakley and Hugh "Mose" Porter; and three sisters, Elizabeth Boober, Daphine Shirley and Eldee Hadlock.
