Susan was a member of the Augusta Street Presbyterian Church and of the Women's Bible Class.
Besides being survived by her husband, she was survived by three sons, Ralph E. Garlington and Louis A. Garlington of Greenville, South Carolina and James H. Garlington of Gastonia, North Carolina.
Susan had three sister's living and one brother, Mrs. Henry Marin Miles(Melvina) of Greenville, South Carolina; Mrs. Mays Milton Barnett(Vannie) of Charleston, South Carolina; Mrs. Edward Law Dillard(Jennie) and Col. Boyce M. James of Sarasota, Florida.
Susan had three sisters that had died earlier, Lola Theresa James Lupo who died in 1918, Effie James Greer who die din 1924 and Etta James who died in 1896.
Funeral services were held at the Thomas McAfee Funeral Home Chapel Downtown Greenville, South Carolina. Ministers in charge were Dr. Thomas G. Cross, Rev, Charles H. Brown and Dr. Flournoy Shepperson with burial in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Active pallbearers were Edward Dillard, Boyce Dillard, Carl Dillard, Dean Barnett, Wistar Smith and H. Hoke Smith.
