Listed as Father Langley on the cemetery records. Asa was born in Christian Co., (became Trigg Co. a year later) Kentucky and migrated to Battlecreek, MI in 1838 with is brother William. There are numerous newspaper clippings telling of his life there. His wife Martha and dau. Angelia died within five days of one another in 1843. Asa married (2) in Feb 1844 to Charlotte "Augusta" Thayer. The Langleys and Thayers moved to WI. They are buried in the same cemetery. There were numerous children born to Asa and Augusta. Thank you to Art Ehlert for the pics of this site!
Asa was son of William Langley and Fanny Estes/Easter, who were married in Trigg Co., KY in 1808. I have no documented proof, except DNA which proves I am descended from William Langley, however, I am on their trail. William is the son of John Preston Langley (124509607 ) and Martha "Patsy" Goodwin (94576420 ).The Langley's did a mass exodus of Trigg Co, KY in 1838 from the "In-betweens" to various places. Most of them to Langleyville, IL except William & Fannie who went to MO, and Asa went to MI. Fannie Estes is the daughter of Elisha Estes Jr. She is the youngest of his children, and went from VA to KY with her brother Asa Estes after he recieved 300 acres for his service in the Rev War. Asa stood up for his sister at her wedding in Cadiz, KY when she married William Langley in 1808. A year later they had a son and named him Asa William Langley.
