Sam Thomas Sharp, 78, of Lake City died Friday night in St. Mary's Hospital, Knoxville. Funeral services for the retired coal miner were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Pine Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Howard Robbins and the Rev. Ernest Goins officiating. Burial was conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at the Leach Cemetery with Martin Funeral Home of Lake city in charge. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ethel Hunley Sharp, four sons, Charlie Sharp, Lake City, Earl Sharp, Florida, Wayne Sharp, Indiana, T.R. Sharp, Petros, three daughters, Mrs. Mada Wallace, Mrs. Beulah Smiddy both of Lake City, Mrs. Maude Baird, Ohio, three brothers, Gordon Sharp, Knoxville, W.H. Sharp and Marion Sharp, both of Lake City, one sister, Mrs. Nola George, Lake City. 37 grandchildren.
